I have a 11 year old Ariens 46 hydrostatic drive mower made by Husqvarna that cuts too short with the deck all the way up against the stops. My lawn is 65 years old with deep thatch. The wheels just sink right down. Been lookin to see if I could find bigger tires that might fit in place of the OEM 20X8X8 and 15X6X6. No luck at all. Any one out there have a solution to this problem? Thanks Frank

Usually you will have clearance problem if you can even install larger tires.

But personally the lawn sounds like it need a good dethatching. I like cleanup my lawn at the start of the mowing season by cutting as low as I can removing the dead grass build up and then as the season goes along start raising the deck especially during the dry spells. This also allows me to spray a pre-emergent to keep down the crabgrass.

It has been a few years since I had it power raked. I will start there. Thanks. Frank in Utah
