Last year I passed on a complete zone with Safeguard. It was probably not a good decision but the distance was so large and I did not have the experience in that type business to jump on it. I guess my lack of knowledge as well kept me from being able to communicate with the recruiter. She kept telling me I had too bag and remove the clippings which in Lower Alabama on July would be a momental task on yards cut biweekly. I did cut for two other small companies however with disastrous results. One of those companies was Agape Better Homes who actually recruited me from this site. They had one house in my immediate area. I wound up cutting that yard 4 times and never got a dime they supposedly went out of business. The second was Field Reps LLC out of Chelsea Al. I finally got paid from is company. The price I was going to get paid changed continually. When I was going to get paid changed continually. What I was supposed to do changed continually. I was told that I was found through Better Business Bureau. Not sure how but that is what I want told when I was recruited. I would not recommend to anybody to work for either of these companies. If you are looking to do any of this kind of work please look closely at who you are working for. It can be a costly experience.

I had been approached by several banks about doing foreclosed properties, when we got down to money, it fell apart when they would not commit to the amount and payment dates. The company that got the job still hasn't been paid in three years, took the bank to court, lost time and money doing so and shut the business down in the fall of 2013. 2013 and 2014 were very dry summers and thus the downfall of many lawn care businesses in my area.
I had a good friend that had broken his arm and I did some of his accounts for him along with his employees. As things turned out, I ended up with most of the foreclosed places. All the foreclosed accounts had hidden problems that caused me extra maintenance expenses in addition to being paid a lower rate than my usual. His two employees left him and started their own business and took most of his good customers away and left him and me with the dead beats. I finally had to pull the plug on him, but I did fulfill my agreement with him and then some.

Mad Mackie in CT with lots of snow!!!:biggrin::smile:
