just a homeowner, farmer, landscaper, and handyman...... guess I do use my equipment more than I think, and currently got the chainsaw out and running well cutting well until I pulled to start and not grabbing. So pilled the cover and noticed that my pawl looked pretty badly worn. so not a hard fix except for finding parts..... but my question here is should this have two pawls or just the one I'm finding? looks like there should be two can anyone enlighten me on this? TIA

Stock is one pawl.

Look at the picture in the above post. If the pulley retainer clip is shaped like the picture then one pawl If the clip has hook on both ends then double pawl.

Stop by the Stihl dealer and get a pawl, most aftermarket starter parts are junk. You could get the 2 pawl spring, they should have one.
