I'm assuming you have full fuel tanks, try cracking the caps to rule out plug vents. Second pull the fuel lines to make sure you have full flow. Third, check for air leak where the carb bolts to block.

Sorry these won't help. There should be numbers on the engine shrouds. What brand engine?

Sorry, i'm lost. I work on all types of engines, but don't have any breakdowns or crosses on cubs. There should be a name on the engine. Any pics possible? Without more info I won't be able to help.

The 11a-18mc010 has a MTD brand engine not a Honda, didn't check the other one. Sounds like the needle valve is sticking shut and runs until the carb runs dry then you have to wait until the carb refills to restart the mower. May need to start the mower and as soon as it dies, clamp the fuel line off to prevent fuel from getting into the carb then remove the drain plug and see if you still have fuel left in the carb other then the small amount that be used in the bottom of the bowl.
