I have this CC Z Force that has no power to the anti-backfire solenoid with key turned on. Solenoid tests good when powered manually.
Mower Model number 53AA5A7M710 w/ the Briggs & Stratton engine.
Engine runs but only with full choke on to suck fuel past the solenoid plunger tip. Carburetor is clean and no wire damage has been found at this time. Key Switch is suspect, but I need wiring diagram to confirm. I don't throw parts at problems
I've gotten so used to operator's manuals not having diagram information, that I did not think to check that online.
I did narrow the problem down late yesterday evening by manipulating the ignition switch housing once it was removed from the right operator's console.
With a test light in the connector for the after-fire solenoid and the key turned on, it showed no power unless I stressed the back switch housing where the harness connector goes.
It was probably a fortunate incident, because when I removed the top fan shroud of the engine, I found that a rodent had made a cozy little home on top of the left cylinder area. It was complete with baler twine, hay and cotton batting. All perfect for overheating the cylinder and head.
