Cub Cadet XT1 Kohler 22 hp RPM adjustment

Hello All,

Model: 13APA1CT056

Mower has been running good. RPM's seem kinda high even with the throttle at its lowest setting. I'd like to adjust it lower. First, can the rpm's be adjusted? If so, how?

Guessing using a 2019 model you have the KT725-3078 engine which has an idle speed of 1750 and full rpm of 3400. So you first need to determine what the rpm's of the engine is now before trying to tinker with it. Because some of the Kohler engines have a high idle speed to prevent issues with the automatic choke.

Hey ILengine, it's a 2016. What tool would use to check the rpm?

Tachometer looks like KT725-3013 or KT725-3055 both use the 1750 and 3400 settings
