I've got a cub cadet LT1042, & the back wheels won't turn, it's like the transmission is locked up. The mower has atleast 60hrs. on it. Was mowing & it just stopped. Tried to push it back to the house n the back wheels doesn't move. That rod on the back of the mower, I pulled it out and nothin', pushed it in and nothin'. I looked under it to see what that rod was moving, it's like bracket that turns alittle bit both ways, when the rod is pushed in, I can push on it alittle harder, & I can move the wheels with my hand. I was wounder'n if there's suppose to be a spring to hold back futher, cuz there's a hole on the top part of that bracket.
Has anyone had this problem or knows what I'm try'n to say... Thanks

This is a COMMON problem with the brake assembly . So common I carry a furniture dolly to put under the left rear wheel when I winch them up the tow truck - 1042 is the most common - check your foot peddles for binding too .
Free fix under warranty with only 60 hours .

msop, I have the same problem with my 1042. It has 18 hours on it. I started it up, and now the rear wheels are locked up. What was the problem with yours? Thanks

follow what Sonofadocker just said. with that many hours it is STILL UNDER WARRANTRY. if you try fixing it yourself with that many hours on it, YOU will void the warrantry on it. take it in and have them repair it, it should be a free fix.
