I was wondering if any of the members on Lawn World forum have a Cub Cadet lawn mower, model CC98, with the Cub Cadet brand engine and experiencing a rich fuel condition? It appears to me that the automatic choke butterfly doesn't open enough during normal engine operaton to allow enough air into the engine. I've removed the air filter assembly from the engine and this appears to be the issue. I've tied the butterfly open so that the butterfly is opened as much as the air filter housing will allow the butterfly to stay open. This helps, but the issue is still present. I plan on adding another gasket between the carburetor and air filter housing to see if that would help further. Any other suggestions?
