54 inch deck, mower goes in and out of a “ mode” intermittently. Acts just like you went into deep grass, bogs down, no power at all, won’t accelerate if you push down on pedal. I can reproduce this in a parking lot. Has nothing to do with grass. It will come out of this mode and just be humming like a perfect machine, blades sounding like jet engine, then it goes back into this weird lugged down mode. When it kicks out of this weird big down, I can hear the spring arm slap on the deck. I thought I might have a bad bearing but I’ve been using it all summer doing this annoying thing it’s doing. Bearing made sense to me because it would make mower think it needs to work harder. Now I’m thinking governor issue. It kicks in and out of this weird mode the whole time you’re mowing. When it out of that lug down mode it’s just like a brand new mower, no load of any kind on the motor. Thanks for ideas.
