Hello,
I hope someone can help me, i have an LT 1018 with 18.5 ohv. the headgasket went so i replaced it and then i noticed the flywheel key was broke,so that is replaced. now for the problem it seems to be out of time backfired threw the carb, or is there something i am missing. it turns over fine has good spark and gets plenty of gas, just not firing. please help very confussed. thanks in advance.

You have both valves open for a split second during compress stroke - check the valves and key in the right place .

Hate to bring this up, but if you didn't torque the flywheel properly, the key could have partially sheared causing the backfiring.
