Cub Cadet/Kohler Courage problem

Is it possible a 2006 Kohler Courage SV730 with 63 hrs may need carb rebuilt?

starts good. Problem began with needing a little choke to run. Gradually needed more and more. Now,only runs with choke open.
After warm up, dies on acceleration.

It is very possble. I have seen almost new machines that needed carb work, due to setting with fuel over the winter 63 hours over 8 years isn't a lot.

low hours is why I was wondering. Carb rebuild isn't in the scheduled maintenance. Can you direct me to the best "carb rebuild for idiots" web tutorial? OMG! the kit is over $80. With 63 hrs, would it be foolish just to clean it? If I but the kit, will I need items not included in the kit?
