Thanks for the reply but I have figured it out for myself. The info for the 2000 series is not the same as the 3000 series. The 3184 has a shaft drive to the deck and the PTO has dual belts from the end of the horizontal motor to the pulley end of the shaft. PTO is energized by a vacuum controlled operator.
It's not to difficult to change the belts, just a little hard to get to them especially when the old belts are shredded and wrapped around the pulleys.
