Cub Cadet 3000 (approx. 1996)

I have an older model Cub Cadet 3000. The blades are engaged by pulling a toggle switch / actuator (pto) located to the right of the stearing column. At first, when the machine has first started up, the blades will engage and disengage just fine when pulling (turning on) and pushing (turning off) the actuator. However, when the machine has heated up (after approximately 1/2 acre of cutting) the blades will not enage when pulling the actuator. It typically happens when I put the machine in reverse, cutting the blades off and then going to re-engage the blades. We have tried to replace the solenoid a couple of times to no avail. Thoughts?

The attachment is a wiring diagram for your machine the most likely culprit is the reverse relay it cuts the power to the blades if reverse is engaged when mowing if it sticks the blades will not turn back on as the machine thinks it is still in reverse.
