I have a 2003 Cub Cadet 1515. Until now I have been using the mower to only cut the grass on a empty lot. Now I also want to start using the 1515 to cut the grass in my yard and don't want to cut the grass too short. The specifications for the cutting height states 1.5 - 4 inches. The best that I can get about 3.25 inches with the deck lever in the highest position. I can't recall if I could ever achieve a cutting height of 4 inches. Could the cable for the mower deck have stretched out over the years and need to be replaced? Or is there something else that may need an adjustment? Thanks for your help . Doug

The lift cables could of become elongated over the years so it wouldn't hurt to replace them if you want. May or may not effect the cutting height. Also make sure the tires are inflated to their proper pressures also, that can have a big effect on cutting height also.
