cub cadet 1042 wont crank

belt came off my cub cadet 1042 while mowing. drove it to shed & quit for the day. went out 2 days later.,put belt back on. mower will not crank. turns over fine. changed spark plug & fule filter no help.check plug for fire W test light, no fire to plug.can't find any reason why. mower about 4 yrs old only 30 or so hrs. was running fine when parked. any ideas about what's wrong

Pull the valve cover off and see if the valves are properly adjusted.
