I have a cub 3184 originally with a 18hp twin cylinder kohler commander. The motor decided to come apart internally. There is a slight chance it is repairable. I have has no luck finding a replacement. How hard would it be to swap in a single cylinder kohler commander from a 2135?

Go to a Kohler dealer and have your model and spec number ready. You should be able to get a short block. This will be the best way....

PTO crank shaft size may be a problem. That you will have to measure for your self. May need drive shaft spacers blocks to make PTO belts work proper.
Drive shaft MAY work.
EXH pipe will be a remake.
Will need a Vac port from engine for PTO operation.
