I have a Cub 2542 with about 500 hours on it. What are the areas I should look to start repairing or replacing parts for the upcoming season. Do I look at the spindles, the mower deck, etc, etc. During this past season I had the right front wheel and part of the suspension fall off due to a loose bolt and nut. I keep it well greased and change the oil and filter regularly and I am more concerned about the suspension parts and mower deck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The deck should pulled and inspected. Replace all loose and bad bearings.

Spindle bearings are LM11949/LM11910 cone bearings and cups. Very expensive from Cub/MTD but you can get after markets using the PNs above. Grease seals are Rotary 12535. The stack pulley has 6203-2RS5/8 bearings with the inner seals removed. Then you need to inspect the deck and drive belts for wear.

What about your Hydro , when was that last serviced
Take your old bearings and seals to a bearing supply company and they will match for you , I replaced my spindle bearings with Timkens
