Me again, still trying to diagnose my B&S 190 cc single cylinder engine that makes a clanking noise while running. The only observation of a potential problem observed so far is that the crankshaft has slight but noticeable end play. It can be moved up and down maybe 5 to 10 thousands of an inch. Is this an acceptable amount of end play?

briggs spec is between .002 and .030, or 2 and 30 thousandths.
