I bought this mower about 3 years ago and it has always given me problems. I ended up replacing all of the fuel lines, the fuel pump, the vacuum pickup for the pump, carburetor, pretty much the whole deck assembly and other parts. I had it running great last year and like an idiot I let it sit with gas in it over winter. I was able to get it up and running most of this year but then I ended up breaking fuel solenoid that clicks when you turn the key and opens up so fuel can flow from the carburetor bowl to the main jet (I pushed a kids toy out of the way and apparently broke the solenoid). Sadly it was cheaper to buy another carb than to buy just that fuel solenoid.
I was able to run it perfectly fine without an issue last week when I was cutting grass. Today it didn't want to run and died on me several times, I realized I could pull the manual choke a bit and get it to even out.
I tried to adjust the manual coke so the flap in the front is wide open when the choke is all the way pushed in. This didn't seem to have any effect and still sputters and dies if the choke isn't pulled out a bit.
Does anyone have a diagram that shows me the linkages for the carb and how it's supposed to work. The governor is surging at part and full throttle without the choke and I don't know if it's the carb or if I need to adjust any of the linkages. I can close the coke and it takes a minute for the mower to adjust but then it will just completely die under load. I have thought about cleaning the old carb and using the new solenoid valve just to see if it resolves the issue.
