working on this thing has me tossin tools :/.....its had to be jump started for along time (i just inherited it btw)........the coil/plug will fire IF the coil isnt plugged in, but will fire if it isnt.........w the coil plugged unplugged it will hit and die/hit and die............plugged in it wont even hit.........

i wonder if the resister is out of the coil???????? or if maybe there is a prob w a kill switch farther down the wiring harness.......

btw the key was working and previous owner was jumping it from the battery.........i havent been able to get it to do anything without jumping directly at the starter, and thereby bypassing the key switch.............

i had this thing running fine, mowed the yard and ran it out of gas...........it hasnt started since.........i took the carb apart and soaked it in cleaner/put it back togather and its getting gas now, just the firing issue now

If it will start with the ignition module unplugged then you have a problem with the wiring in the tractor. Most likely seat switch. The starting problem could also be related to a safety switch like the clutch switch or maybe a bad starter solenoid.
