I know nothing about small engine repair so my apologizes for not knowing all the terms.
Bought a used VT4000 (917.255693) couple of weeks ago. Was able to mow the lot 3 times. This last time it ran for about 20 min then died.
So far I have put in a new battery (other was 3+ years old and not reliable), replaced fuel filter and put in a new spark plug.
Now when I start it, it sputters and never really sounds right. After 2-3 minutes on Rabbit just sitting there, it dies. May run longer some times.
My neighbor kid who does some small engine repair noticed no fuel was in old fuel filter and it was a little warped and melted so I replaced. When I tried starting it, no fuel would go in it so I removed the hose that leads to engine and lowered fuel filter and fuel came in. So now, there is fuel. Put back on the other end of the hose.
Engine is a Kohler CS14S / SPEC1445.
So, what now?
