Y craftsman curved shaft trimmer stop engaging when I pull the throttle it is still linked on the carb and the cable is not broke and niether is the one in the shaft HELP ME PLEASE
Irate to say this, but if you can't find the model number you probably won't be able to fix it. There are two things that usually happen to curve shaft trimmers which do not allow the head to turn. One, bad clutch and to frozen head. In either case, unless you have experience repairing trimmers, it will probably be cheaperbto replace than repair. FYI, the model number starts with 917.XXXXXXXXX.
Okay, to the both of you. The model number is in the first pic. 316.7910(8?). I'm sure it can be more readable live.
And I'm unclear as to what is not moving. Does the engine rev when the trigger is pulled? If so, you have a clutch or shaft issue. If not, there is a cable problem.
This trimmer has a clutch which is noted for failure. The clutch has a square end which mates with the square end of the flex shaft. This end likes to round off.
