So I’m trying to rebuild an old Craftsman mower rather than buy new, got it running finally and it died when mowing and now won’t start back up. Here’s what I’ve fixed:
-oil,air,fuel filters
- new carburetor, fuel lines, starter solenoid
-new battery
Original issue was it would stall when blades were engaged (has been fixed). Got about 10 minutes into my lawn when it died and now wont start up. Only think it get is the click from the starter. This happened when downshifting to lower gear to go slower. What could be the issue? Gas is fresh and carb is brand new. Any ideas?
It’s a ‘99 craftsman lt1000 from what I can tell
Please post Model # from under seat, thanks, Mark
Post Engine Make & all numbers from engine. Check all wiring making sure it is tight & secure & free from rust & corrosion. You may need to adjust valves if B&S Engine. Remove & inspect spark plug for replacement. With spark plug removed rotate topside engine screen clockwise several times before installing spark plug.
The model is scratched off - the last #s I get from the back of it are “1271100” with a serial # 010499D001006. The preceding #s from the model are gone
