Craftsman model#917.27691 not shifting out of reverse

how do I get the tractor to shift out of reverse? last week it was only going forward then I replaced the module reverse part and it went into reverse fine but will no longer leave reverse. not even neutral.

do you have to manually shift(by hand) from forward to reverse or do you have a foot pedal that does it? it sounds like you might have a bent linkage bar. if you still have the old module try putting it back on and see if that gets it out you might have a bad module good luck
