The tractor has a Kohler 25hp CV730 0044 engine. My first problem was that it lost power while mowing. It would start kind of sluggish and when going to full power it would be sluggish too. At full power it would also sometimes make a pop sound almost like its backfiring. The engine sounds to me like its running on 1 cylinder and it was. I could pull the spark plug wire on the Left side (Lift side as you are setting on the mower) and the engine would not change. Pull the right side and engine would quit. Removed the spark plugs and they look fine so I swapped the plugs and it appears to run fine now?? So I went and got new plugs and installed them and the engine sound fines. Now if I pull off either spark wire the engine changes. Did a little mowing it seemed to mow fine. BUT! When I turn off the engine I now hear either a sucking or pulsing sound coming from the right side of the engine around the head during the last couples turns of the crank shaft. It was not making this sound before I think! I did make sure the spark plugs were tight. Could not switch the spark plug to see if it might be the problem. It start to rain. The engine could be making this sound while running but I'm to sure. Its hard to hear this sound while the engine is running. Has any body had a similar problem like this? Any thoughts on the first problem. Checked the compression and the Right side is at 150 and the left side is around 155. Is this good?
Thanks
