I'm considering buying a Craftsman EZ Walk Model 917.374362. Best I can tell it's a 2008 or 2009 model. It's in decent shape other than that it's been sitting for a couple of years and the battery hasn't been charged for at least that long. I think the carb is clogged with gelled fuel because it will run for a couple of seconds if I pour fuel into the carb and pull start it. I think the starter motor is still good, but it for sure needs a new battery. So, what should I offer? It belongs to the widow next door, so I want to be fair. I was thinking maybe offering $50.00 since I'll have another $35.00 to $40.00 in it if I replace the carb and battery. Thanks!

I'd say $25 is fair because you're going to need to do a bunch on that.
About 2 years ago a bought a standard low-end mower brand-new for about $160, with warranty. Note that mine is pull start and not self-propelled.
Appreciate the input. I don't expect to have to do much other than the carb and battery. It's been garage kept, no rust and pretty clean. Given that it is self-propelled and electric start I think it's worth more than $25.00, but the age is what I worry about. It's a nice mower overall and has been maintained, but I guess $50.00 would pretty much be top end for this. Normally I wouldn't spend this much time thinking about it, but I've got the neighbor factor to think about.
