Craftsman 42" Value

My mother and aunt purchased a 42" Craftsman together 6 years ago since they lived next to each other. My mother is now moving in with my sister and they are trying to decide what the mower is worth since one will need to buy the other out. I know they paid $2000 for it new 6 years ago and at best it is in average condition and it is a pretty basic model with the lever deck engage and a Briggs engine, what would you estimate the mower being worth now?

Trade in value, in fair condition, $450-500 depending on what is purchased. Private party sale, $650-750 on a good day. Also, depends on your area sales.
