hey guys, im picking upthe mower described above. it has no decals describing it other than whats by the shifter. I dont know how to tell its age. im getting it for 120, it doesnt run cause it doesnt have a battery, but the engine and stuff is all free'd up, so it should work with a little work. where do I find the model number? is there anything bad about the 19.5 hp engine and the 5 spd trans? thx guys

You should find the model and serial numbers on a sticker under the seat. The first 6 digits of the serial number tell its age, i.e a serial number of "042210D016588" would mean the tractor was manufactured on Apr 22, 2010.

Heck, if the deck is in okay shape, you've just got your investment.:biggrin: Be sure to use a good grade of synthetic 10-30 in your mower, and don't hotrod the thing out across any hills or curbs on the property. The axles are starting to get a little light duty for the engines in this range of mower. Good luck, it sounds like with a little fixin', you'll be fine!:thumbsup:

ok guys i got a question, when i look up by the model and the serial number it shows this tractor only came with a 18hp engine, any clue how i got a 19.5? was this a stock option? thx

ok... lol well, i dont need this to do any actuall work, no more than moving trailers around the property so i was just gonna have fun with it, make it look kool. i was thinking of trying lawn tractor pulling...then thought, naw with the belt drive i wouldnt do so well...
then i thought lawn mower racing...that looks like a lot of fun...any insight on this would be great

other than that i just wanna make it look bad ***, something my daghter can take to car shows, or use when my bady is racing as a "pit bike" type thing lol
