Click is classic low battery only able to acutate solenoid. Check bat charge with a battery hydrometer. A new battery will discharge over time if not used/charged.

Just bought the battery because i was thinking it was the battery.
Replaced solenoid last season.

What is the voltage on the new battery?

Possibly it is not charged.

Have you tried to jump start it?

It does sound like a weak battery. have someone read the battery voltage while you try and start it.

Thanks for your fast reply.
can not beleive i just bought this battery from battery plus.
attach a volt meter to posts and see the dc reading when i try to start it?

Make sure your connections are good & tight. If so then I believe this is a four pole solenoid, there are 2 smaller wires attached to terminal tabs on the solenoid. One is a ground and the other is the power wire that bridges the solenoid. I would check the voltage on it when trying to start. May not be enough voltage to bridge the solenoid.

Yes, Read the DC voltage drop as you try and start it.
As the other man said...check all your connections.

Voltage on new battery was 11 something less then 12. so i took the original old battery that i could not get mower to start with and i put it in.
it now starts with alot of trying if i have throttle all the way up.
once i push throttle down it will die.
in the fuel i put a stabalizer a few days ago.

Fuel stabilizer works best before shutdown and cannot work miracles after gummies are in the idle circuit of the carb. Maybe only the main jet is clear. Maybe , somehow the sabilizer will work, but you may need to ungum the idle circuit unless you can live with the higher engine speed. After all the open throttle IS the operation mode (at least on my Intek, and does ensure battery charging). I think the advice on the bat voltage during cranking is the "poor man's load test" hoping your bat will not drop below ? 9V while cranking.
