Couple problems. Need help. RZT 50

Hello I have a couple problems with my RZT 50. The first is my "J" hook that hold the deck up, on the left side keeps coming out. And the second problem is the only way I am able to start my mower is, using a screwdriver on the solenoid. When I turn the key I get nothing. Thanks

Changed solenoid, new battery, new fuse holder and fuse, new cables to stater, and check all safety switches, and still can only start by screw driver to solenoid.

Which RZT 50 do you have the lap bars or the S model?

Multimeter.

You most likely need to disconnect the seat switch and Lap bar switches and run some jumpers and try starting the mower. Mine on the 48" z-force also tested good but didn't work. Try your seat switch first. If your lap bar adjustment is off those two they will test good but won't work. I replaced all mine twice on the Z-Force and finally got fed up spending money and I just ran jumpers on all three and it's been running fine for the last two years. The nice thing I gained was now I can mow in reverse.

Also check and make sure you brake is on and your lap bars are lock in position or it will not do anything.

How did you run the jumpers?

I would disconect the little connection on the solenoid ( in the middle ), then make a hot wire from the battery, and just touch the wire on small blade on solenoid. ? If it kicks? I would go with new igintion switch.
