Hello everyone, I am a newbie to this forum, but an old pro with over 55 years small engine repair experience.
I have a Lawn Boy Scamp from the 80's with the F series engine that runs (when it does run ) like a brand new one.
However, the carb comes with a cork float in it. Initially, there was no problem. Then came reformulated and ethanol-enhanced fuel. These seem now to last about a year, until they get saturated with ethanol or other nasty stuff in todays gasoline, and it just drops to the bottom of the bowl and floods the engine till it stops.
Are there any replacement parts that will interchange, or other fixes someone can recommend?
OEM p/n is 678113, discontinued. replaced with 95-1899, but it is still made of cork.
Thanks for all your help!!
