Ihave a Kawasaki FD590v engine. I started it up and ran it the other day and It ran fine for about 10 minutes but then it started blowing white smoke. I checked the oil and it was light brown and milky so I assumed a blown gasket somewhere.
I checked compression and it was 127 in each cylinder. I checked the cooling system with a pressure tester on the radiator and no leakage. I thought that surely the radiator test would indicate a leaking gasket.
Anybody have any ideas or tests I should make. I would like to know how extensive the problem is before I repair a bunch of stuff I don't need to.
On the Kaw's that I have worked on the water pump was driven by the camshaft, and if that internal seal on the shaft leaks can cause coolant in the oil also. But your issue does sound like possibly head gasket issues, or in some cases the intake manifold gaskets can leak and cause similar issues.
