I have a john deere 535m my left control handle now comes across center and hits the right control handle , how do I adjust it ?

There is inbound adjustment. What you have is maybe a bent handle bar (item 10) or handle (item 4) which would require either bending it some with a hydraulic press or just simply replacing the handle and/or bar (may or not resolve the problem). The owners manual only show up/down and forward/rearward adjustments.
