Commercial walk behind G1236

I just bought this, as-is, of course. I got the engine running but the 'transmission' hub in the back is pretty noisy. I don't see anything in the owners manual about oiling this but it has some sensor on the top. Any info on whether to service this part? The top of the unit just shows a patent number...
