coil wires

I have a newer 17.5 h.p briggs engine and on the right side there is a plug with a black and red wire.im assuming it comes from the coil.im going to wire it with a push button to start it.what do I need to do with this plug?cut it off and splice it into a kill button ?or will it start with it the way it is
