Hey Guys, I've got a Murray 425007-92b Model -
I got a new drive belt and adjusted the gear shifter to correct position, without Adjusting the clutch. So it was hard to shift when mower was on (not when it was off). I went ahead adjusted the clutch, with adjustment bolt, everything worked!! Then by the time I was done with the yard, the clutch got harder to shift gears again, however, the the adjustment bolt, didn't move. Haven't seen anyone post about the clutch rod Bolt in the back, does that bolt need to be tighten too? Again, when it's not on it shifts fine, when off it's hard to shift.. #clutchproblems #murraymower

Thanks!
David D.

Sounds like the belt is still moving,
are you out of adjustment?

It seems that way. Just wondering if I have to tighten the bolt/nut on the slotted plate in the back? Manual only says Adjustable Bolt in front of clutch rod

Look for a loose bracket or mount somewhere. Maybe a bolt fell out somewhere. Things could get cocked sideways and throw the works out of adjustment.
