I went to snapper web site but they want a serial number. thanks.

update I got it half adjusted, I put on a new friction wheel and brought the disk down to touch the friction wheel in reverse, but when I run it it goes into every gear except reverse, the other onesw 12345 all go great, just no reverse.

If one of the older Snapper RER's, this clutch adjustment has worked best for me. Place the gear shift into 3rd gear. Loosen the drive plate collar that attaches to the engine crankshaft and with the clutch pedal fully depressed, adjust the drive plate collar and assembly to where you have approx. 3/16" clearance between the drive plate and the drive disc with the clutch pedal fully depressed in 3rd gear. If the drive plate doesn't move far enough to engage reverse, you may have a linkage that is binding or bent or the tilt plate that controls the movement of the center chaincase that the drive disc attaches to might have a wear issue. The tilt plate is attached near the bottom of the rear most frame member with plastic bushings and the tilt plate and/or the plastic bushings may be worn.

Results I know this is not your rer model but clutch adjustment should be same, see pages 16 & 17 in operators manual.
