Hi ,I am totally new . I have a chance to buy MODEL 8241AE W/ ELECTRIC START NOT RUN IN A YEAR OR SO MOUSE NEST IN MOWER MOTOR NEED CLEANING SOLD AS IS Looks nice I think I am going to buy it any thoughts ? ides to get running ? do I charge the battery like a normal car battery ? thanks in advance

I avoid electric start models -- it's a lot of complicated stuff that makes the mower heavier and more expensive to maintain. These mowers are very easy to start if tuned properly so an electric starter seems unnecessary.

I feel the same way about the self-propelled feature but I'll admit that's not quite so absurd.

The battery is much smaller than a car battery so be careful not to charge it at too high a rate (charging amperage relative to the rating on the battery.)

That mower does have the classic F-series engine which is a big plus.
