Hello, I have an "old" Cub Cadet 2166. My previous PTO belt ripped off about a month ago. I purchased a "good" replacement on Amazon. I have replaced PTO belts on this mower in the past with no problem. I put the new PTO belt on making sure that I twisted it correctly when it went from the clutch pulley threw the two lower pulleys so that the tapered side would be in the correct position in the large top pulley. It keeps flipping when I engage the PTO, I have put it on several times, could this be I am dumb or is there need for a new large pulley or a new tensioner spring or is there a defect in the belt????

compare the length of the old belt to new one. If your mower has a brake shoe that hits a pulley to stop the blades when you disengage, make sure that it isn't worn. As they wear it allows the pulley to move in a way that reduces tension and that can cause belt problems. Plenty of youtube channels that show the difference in belt geometry between a new brake and old worn one.
You must make sure you have the correct belt, buying off AutoScam has been found by the experienced techs on this form to be very sketchy. Most times you get ones that says “IT WILL FIT” buy does not have the same belt geometry as an OEM belt. This might help you out.
