I know many of the members here are retired.
But do you find you have to take time off work just to keep up around the house and yard.
I had two days off work this week and was busy non stop at home. Both days I mowed with bagger to clean up leaves at my and a relatives yard. Cleaned up a few garden beds that were done for the year Finished painting my bathroom. Hung new rods and curtains in one the kids room. Put away my moms grill and patio set.

And I haven't even started the gutters. Ugh

And the wife wants the living room, dining room and kitchen painted before thanksgiving. They are not small rooms. She thinks every job takes either five minutes or one hour.

I get it.
Without going into a lot of boring details about how far behind I think I am..... I can commiserate.
I've often found my self thinking about a way to bank labor, swapping time for time or something else. I think everybody needs help from time to time but we work alone on our properties. Working as a team is a very effective way to accomplish a goal, unfortunately our society does not encourage such things. we would rather show up our neighbor rather than ask for help. I'm speaking in general terms about society nothing specific
If you had 2 or 3 people to help on a Saturday the work would go 5 times as fast. Especially work like what you just mentioned.
Imagine all of your neighbors coming together to rake leaves or clean gutters. You could get the whole neighborhood done in a few hours or a day.
It's too bad we don't share more. I think it's called "community"?
