If it is dripping out of the bottom, then possibly the gasket needs replaced.

This carborator is on a 8hp Briggs & Stratton engine and I'm guessing it's about a 1976. The carb is shaped like an "L", the lower end being the air intake and that is where the gas is dripping out. The gas only leaks while it is running.
Either the gasket around the bolw is bad, the gasket on the nut that holds the bowl in is bad or the nut on the bottom of the bowl is loose.
