Ive got a seized briggs intek 15.5HP from my mower, ive had the head off and its blown the gasket, i think the rod must be OK as i cant shift the piston, so i pulled all the sump bolts but i cant get the sump off, ive removed everything i can find, it moves about 5mm which is the crankshaft play, i assume the crankshaft is seized in the journal, has anyone any tips? I'm bordering on surrender as i took an air chisel to it and it still wont budge. Thanks very much for any suggestions.

Make sure you have removed all mounting bolts, I know that is stupid, but it happens. If the crankshaft turns at all it can't be seized. Get some good abrasive and make sure the crank is shiny clean. Lubricate around the seal and the sump should come off as there is nothing to hold it. Post your model and type numbers so we can see if we are missing something.
