on my self propelled mower #917.377582, I want to check the air gap, but I cannot remove the plastic gas tank. This is a 22" rear discharge with a 6.75 h.p. motor What am I doing wrong?

After looking at the model, you should have 3 5/16 screws on top that hold the tank to the metal housing, and one 3/8" screw just behind where the fuel line connects to the tank.

the model # for that manual is different than what your model you posted shows when i searched it.... so it has the style tank in that manual you linked? Hmmm. haven't seen one quite like that
Parts lookup and repair parts diagrams for outdoor equipment like Toro mowers, Cub Cadet tractors, Husqvarna chainsaws, Echo trimmers, Briggs engines, etc.
