Just bought a Honda push mower for cheap. Motor runs like a champ, no smoke, easy start. However the transmission for the self propel is worn out and the self propel controls are missing. I'd like to fix both.
My model is HRR2163vxa MZCG-7403550. I can't seem to find any sites that find this model number. I see reference to the MZCG models, but the closest I can find is HRR216K3vxa. Is the K something I can look around?
As for the actual issue, the 'clutch discs' inside the trans that the pressure arm pushed against are work out. The gear connected to the pulley, and the shaft ring gear seem to be in acceptable shape. Is it worth trying to slap a random bushing in there to make it work? I cannot find a replacement part that matches the transmission code, which is B0006A303. Does it go by a different name/code maybe?
Finally, anyone have a link to what I should look for with the hand control? The cable is there, it runs inside the handlebar and comes out in the top middle, inside a plastic piece that surrounds the bar.
Thanks for any help!
