Can I swap my Kohler for an existing Briggs?

I have a poulan pro lawn mower with a briggs engine (445677-0413 E1)that has a thrown rod and cracked housing. I want to take a Kohler engine (sv590) that's on a Troybilt with a bad transmission. Is this even possible? And if so, what steps do I have to take to get it going.
