Can anyone tell me why my scag cuts like this (pics)

Hi guys,

I cut this lawn and am obviously not happy with the cut. I have a scag turf tiger 61'' with a 27hp kohler. The cut going away does not look horrible, but the return cut coming back leaves a nasty discolored line on the right side. I have noticed that the left side is developing one as well as you can see in the picture. Please help me get this sorted out!!

I'm thinking that you need new blades, a deck leveling adjustment and you are cutting the grass too short.

New blades, ol' fella...and pump up that flat tyre.
The rest?
Fit a GPS or get yourself some golf-tee markers (flags)
and set them a yard past turn point :wink:

My company runs scag and you need to raise that deck and slow down. Make sure the spacers are on top of the blades not under them. Scag makes great blades they're pricy but durable.

Definitely check the levelness of the deck. Mine was doing about the same. Leveled the deck and pretty much took care of it.

I didn't mention this but the velocity plus deck is so dependent on air flow if it start to get a decent amount of clippings built up under it, it will start cutting funny.
