I'm looking to get your thoughts on the feasibility and potential problems with my custom fuel pump setup. Between the wife and kids my paychecks are taxed so I make some side money mowing lawns for neighbors. I've custom rigged a 6HP commercial grade Tecumseh Vector XL electric start motor onto a Toro mower body. I love the electric start but having to manually prime the fuel pump every time kinda spoils the fun. I have a small 12 volt inline fuel pump and pressure regulator that i'd like to add to solve this issue. My question is this, will adding positive pressure (1PSI) before the mechanical fuel pump affect it's output pressure and if so, can I just bypass the pump altogether and set the regulator to whatever pressure the carb needs?
