Finally had some free time to work on it. The bad news is the motor is shot :( Also the deck is so old the blade height adjustment is on the right instead of the left.

Well motors can be found. That's interesting about the opposite -side blade height lever...my 1973 snapper sp has the sp lever on opposite side too. I think it was that way til '75 or '76. I think that's neat though, it just means it's that much older and more different! It looks good so far!

Thanks. This has been a rough build so far. I have an 8 horse that I think I can get goin for it. Im gonna sell this one when I'm finished. The wife says I have enough toys :(

Too many toys??? For some odd reason my wife thinks 6 mowers is too many also. Going to have to start hiding any newcommers at my brothers house:laughing:

Those wheels are going to look fantastic! And once those handlebars are painted...man I'd love to see it in person.

Thanks snapperfreak I got the motor goin. It cuts pretty good so far still needs some work though. This motor starts and runs descent when you pull start it. I put a good starter on it, but the starter gets stuck in flywheel any ideas?

If the flywheel is clean of any obstructions maybe focus on the starter itself. The little cog that pops up to engage the flywheel may be bad, or maybe the spring it's attached too. I know those parts are cheap. But short of that I don't have any expertise in that area.
