Can anybody provide the RPM specs for a Briggs and Stratton 44R877-001 G1 on a Husqvarna YTA 24V48? I've spent over an hour researching and can only come up with an idle screw RPM of either 1200 or 1550, governor idle of 1750, and top no load of either 3300 or 3800. No definite answers found and I'm going to test the current RPMs at some point today.
Backstory:
70 hours on mower, engine was surging. Removed Carb, cleaned jets and rebuilt with new gaskets, seals, float, and needle. It appeared that the fuel transfer tube rubber gasket had decomposed and bits went into the jet. Ran great for 15 minutes then started running rich (black smoke) when the throttle opened under load. I had to drop the throttle lever down to idle and slowly increase when it would choke out, and was eventually able to cut the grass with the throttle lever at 2/3 to 3/4. I took it apart four more times, replaced spark plugs, fuel, fuel lines, fuel pump, air filter, vacuum lines, checked compression (70 PSI in both), tested the fuel solenoid, but was never able to correct the problem. I then purchased a cheap manual-choke carb off of Amazon and drilled it out to swap the auto-choke shaft. Runs great now, but it seems to idle a little high and I would like to adjust it to spec. Bonus points to anyone that can tell me what I'm doing wrong with the original carb...
