I have a self propelled Brute. The mower has sat for more than a year with fuel in the tank. I replaced the spark plug, air filter, drained and re-fueled, added a fuel conditioner. It will not even attempt to turn over unless you spray starter into the carb. as long as you continue to spray it will run but will quit immediately when you stop. It seems like no fuel is getting to the carb but I removed the fuel line and fuel is flowing.

You are going to have to clean and rebuild the carb. Probably all gunked up from old gas, causing the float needle to stick and/or plugged jets.

Thanks for the reply. Will the spray carb cleaner do the job?

Might? If the float needle is sticking, you will need to replace. Spray clean may not clean jets which have dry gunk.

Mine did this I had to drop the bowl to clean it out, and after that it ran good.
